How do I sign up?
The first step is to create an Account and obtain a Password. This Password, along with your email address, allows you to login to the IndexMySite system. Once you've logged in, you will be able to create search indexes (indices) for your website(s), or to administer your existing IndexMySite search indexes.

To Create an Account and obtain a Password
From the IndexMySite home page, click on the New User link, and supply the requested information on the form provided. That's all there is to it.

How do I create a search index for my site?
If you've just signed up for an account, your browser will automatically jump to the site submission form. On the form, supply your site's primary URL (plus any secondary URL's you may desire), plus other index options. Then simply submit the form. The IndexMySite robot will visit your site and create a search index of your site's contents.

If you are re-visiting IndexMySite, use your Password plus your email address to login from the IndexMySite home page. Once logged in, you will have access to the IndexMySite Admin program. Click on the index a website option.

How do I re-index my site when it changes?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Re-index your website
  • Select the site you want to re-index from drop box
  • Click Submit

How do I change my account information?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Edit your account information
  • Select the type of account information to change.

How do I change indexing options?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Edit your account information
  • Select Edit a site index radio button
  • Choose UID from drop box
  • Click Select
  • Change the information as required.
  • Click Submit

How do I change/add my own stopwords?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Edit your account information
  • Select Edit a site index radio button
  • Choose UID from drop box
  • Click Select
  • Click Change the stopword list link
  • Edit or replace the list as desired
  • Click Submit

How do I change/add my own passwords?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Edit your account information
  • Select Edit a site index radio button
  • Choose UID from drop box
  • Click Select
  • Click View/Edit your password data link
  • Enter/edit password data as required.
  • Click Submit

How do I delete an index I no longer use?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Remove a website index
  • Choose UID from drop box
  • Click Remove

How do I put a search button on my site?
Once you submitted a website for indexing, you will see a web page containing the HTML code you will need. In addition, you will be sent an email with the same information.
You can cut and paste this HTML code into your web page in the desired position. Save the edited page to your web server.

How do I customize the appearance of the search results page?

  • Login using your email and Password
  • Select Edit your account information
  • Select Edit query results page radio button
  • Choose UID from drop box
  • Click Select
  • Click Customize my Search Results Page link

The Stylemaker program allows you to change the appearance of each element of the results page. To change an element:

  • Click on element to change in the top window (frame)
  • Change its properties presented in the lower window
  • Selecting update will apply your new settings
  • Repeat steps for each element
